BREAKING: NDIS™️ Announces Stricter Penalties & Increased Oversight
Minister Shorten today announced the NDIS™️ has intensified efforts against non-compliance, introducing stricter penalties, including civil and criminal charges. With so many of you doing such a great job on ethical practice and compliance during your day to day procedures with regular audits - you will not be surprised by the breaking changes implementing the Disability Royal Commission Recommendations.
Critically, penalties for providers will increase from a maximum of $400,000 to in excess of $15 million when a participant is hurt or injured under the providers care. Minister Shorten, Media Release, 28/10/2024
Now is a good time to review your practices, avoid significant fines, and continue to do the right thing by vulnerable people living with disabilities. Stay compliant and protect your business by regularly assessing your processes. (Source:
