🎄 Season's Greetings
As we approach the end of 2024, I want to take a moment to wish you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season and a safe and happy New Year in 2025. Your support and engagement mean so much to me. Together, we’re empowering people with disabilities and their families to achieve their goals and embrace greater independence. It’s an honour to serve you through our community initiatives at Whole Warrior Network, including the 12 Facebook groups, the Whole Warrior Directory, and my private practice.
Reflecting on 2024
This year has been a mix of challenges and wonderful achievements. A major highlight was launching the Growth Warrior business coaching programme, which has been incredibly rewarding. Many repeat graduates returned to complete another round of the Startup Warrior coaching programme. It’s always a fun and creative process to dig deep into their operations and marketing goals while watching their businesses take shape and flourish. I also launched our private Warrior Community group, welcoming foundational members and hosting our Interagency Meetings.
In November, I was honoured to be a finalist for Community Services Excellence at the Accessible Futures Awards, a recognition that underscores the impact we’re making together. Earlier in the year, I was also a finalist at the National Women’s Small Business Awards, which was another deeply meaningful moment of 2024.
This year saw Coercive Control criminalised in NSW which is a huge milestone, as it impacts many women with disabilites.
Of course the new NDIS bill was passed and Minister Bill Shorten resigned, and the NDIS Review recommendations have been rolling out. Support workers and SIL providers being now forced to become registered providers and the NDIS taskforce has been cleaning up some of the shonky ones.
In my private practice, I’ve continued to support counselling and coaching clients while helping business coaching clients achieve incredible milestones. One standout success has been Brian Karanja, founder of Adaptive Aid Solutions. Brian is an Independent Disability Support Worker with fitness qualifications and over two years of experience in the disability field. If you’re in Lake Macquarie, the Central Coast, or Newcastle and looking for a highly motivated and approachable support worker, contact him here. You can learn more about Brian and download his free community resource, A Guide to Empowering Your Independence: Thriving with NDIS Core Supports, here.
Looking Ahead to 2025
I’m planning for an exciting year ahead. In addition to launching the long-anticipated Sapphire and Ruby courses, I also plan to introduce new courses in my private practice focused on grief and loss, wellbeing, and trauma-informed practice towards recovery. These will offer practical, compassionate support for navigating life’s challenges. I'm also cranking up my EAPS counselling for employee's of providers.
The Interagency Meeting will take a summer break, I’m excited to announce a free online Marketing Masterclass exclusively for Warrior Community members during this period. I'll also be sending out a survey in the new year to canvass if the Interagency is something you'd like to continue to attend, or if you'd prefer an online co-working space.
On a personal note, a highlight was rescuing and training a toy poodle named Bella. Hours of fun and lots of lakeside and beach walks. I've never met so many neighbours and people in my life as she attracts a lot of adoration! 🐩💕🦴 I’m also preparing for a new chapter as I downsize my 🏡 home in the new year, while aiming to stay on the Central Coast. It’s a bittersweet transition, but I’m looking forward to what’s to come.
I'll be taking a much needed short break 🏖 from 24/12/24-1/1/25 for annual leave. I will be visiting some friends and decluttering the house and culling unwanted items for the downsize.
I’d love to hear from you! Drop me an email and let me know your Christmas plans—or if you’re working through the holiday season, share what you’re up to. I genuinely enjoy hearing from you and staying connected. 💕
Thank you for being such an important part of the Whole Warrior Network. Together, we’re truly empowering futures. ❤️
Wishing you a peaceful and joyful holiday season.
Yours in Warrior Spirit,
Tania Gorry
